Logline: When an ambitious astronaut vetted for the mission of her dreams is haunted by the strange creature of her nightmares, she must grapple with mental resilience, imposter syndrome and family legacy to succeed.
Synopsis: Tenau Kemp is an astronaut candidate preparing for her first space mission. Three days away from joining the flight crew as the Communications Specialist, she is tasked with a surprise sleep test. Tenau has three nights to pass and achieve her lifelong dream of traveling to space — one she shared with her late father who never got the chance to leave Earth. Despite being the top candidate, Tenaus’ growing anxiety and fear of failure may cause her to miss the opportunity of a lifetime.
As Tenau’s confidence unravels, her dreams are visited by a hostile alien life form and she fails the first two sleep tests. Tenau must find a way to conquer her fear and the alien haunting her dreams in order to sleep through the night and pass the final test.
A mix between science fiction and psychological thriller, DREAM FLIGHT explores the psychological harm caused by the pressure to be a model minority and the perceived risk of stereotype threat — the fear of conforming to stereotype.
